Fighting for survival

Third day:
It is 10 o’clock. The third day has passed faster than days before. Today we have survived eating grasshoppers. They taste better than small lizards but worse than caviar. We have to build a fishing rod if we want to relax stomach and mind. No matches, no food, only my daybook, my pen and all the time for thinking, for everything else there’s MasterCard. What do I want a MasterCard in that place for?

Fourth day:
Today Peter has found a coconut floating at sea. All the water fell down when he broke it. If I close my eyes while I eat the coconut, I think I am in a fair eating candy apples and… more grasshoppers and a lizard for dinner. Great day! We should explore the island.

Fifth day:
I do not want to eat more grasshoppers. We decided to build a fishing rod. Peter hurts me with a spike of a plant. We use a delicious grasshopper like lure. Three hours later I eat the grasshopper and Peter persecutes a lizard with the rod. Menu of the day: lizard with grasshoppers. I hope lizards do not like grasshoppers. We should explore the island.

Sixth day:
Peter has given name to a lizard: Charlie. Now we cannot kill Charlie. We cannot “unname” it. What an idea! And now we know it: lizards love grasshoppers. Charlie is eating all the grasshoppers. I hope Peter does not give name to all the grasshoppers… I tell Peter to go at sea to see the sea. When he returned, we ate Charlie stuffed with grasshoppers.
When Peter looked for Charlie, I told him Charlie was looking for a place to dream. He spends all night calling Charlie. I spend all night answering from my stomach.

Seventh day:
Peter has found a turkey while he was looking for Charlie. We inspect the turkey and we conclude that it is no natural to find a turkey stuffed of garlics, carrots and tomatoes. We conclude that it is natural to eat it and we proceed to eat that rare, wild and stuffed turkey. Walking along the beach we have found a teapot and a brown cake. What a strange island! Tomorrow we will explore the island just a little more.

Eighth day:
Walking towards the centre of the island —no more than five minutes— we found a hotel, a big and modern hotel with two restaurants: The Hungry Lizard and The Green Grasshopper, carnivore and vegetarian, respectively. We walked like a pair of crying zombies. Unfortunately, my credit card expired three days ago, and Peter does not want to pay my room. He knows I cooked Charlie, but he ate it anyway. Damn luck! But not everything is bad: now I do not have to share my roasted grasshoppers.
